Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Pragte (“we”, “us”) handles personal information when you:

  • visit pragte.com,
  • use the Pragte app at pragte.app to create an account, design a project, publish it or buy a plan (a site owner),
  • visit a site made with Pragte, answer a form, upload photos or leave a message (a visitor; at an event, a guest), or
  • leave your email for our early access news.

Our role

For site owners and people browsing pragte.com, Pragte decides how your information is used. In privacy law terms, we are the controller.

For visitors, the site owner decides what their site collects and why. Pragte stores and processes what visitors give a site on the owner’s behalf and following their instructions. In privacy law terms, the owner is the controller and Pragte is the processor. If you are a visitor with a question about your information, you can contact the site owner, or write to us and we will help.

What we collect

From site owners

  • Account details: your name, email address and sign-in information. You sign in with Google or with a link we email you; both are handled by Google’s Firebase Authentication. If you choose Google, it tells us your name, email address and profile photo. We never see your Google password.
  • Your projects: designs, text, photos, videos, music choices, event dates, phase schedules and settings.
  • Purchases: the plan you bought, the amount and date. Card details go directly to our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: what you send us when you ask for help.
  • What you give the AI: if you use the AI in the editor, the words you write to it, the pictures you attach and the page you have open are sent to Google’s Gemini models to build a design, answer or make a photo (see “Who we share information with”).

From visitors

What a site collects depends on the owner’s design. It may include:

  • Form answers: name, email and whatever else the owner asks. For a wedding RSVP, that may be attendance, the number of guests, a meal choice and dietary needs.
  • Photos you choose to upload, and optionally your name or a short message.
  • Messages, such as a guestbook entry.
  • List searches: the name you type to find your row, for example your table. We do not keep a record of searches.

Some answers, such as dietary needs, can reveal information about health or religion. Owners should only ask what they need, and visitors can leave optional questions blank.

Photos and location data

Phone photos often contain hidden data, including where they were taken. A photo is resized on the visitor’s phone before it is sent, which leaves that location and camera data behind. Pragte receives and keeps the resized copy, not the original file.

From everyone

  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and pages requested, used to deliver pages, keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
  • Spam protection: forms and uploads may use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is submitting, which processes technical signals from your browser.

Early access news

If you leave your email for early access news, we keep your email, what describes you best (for example, a couple or a planner) and your event date if you share it. We use this only to send you news about Pragte’s early access, such as new features and help getting started, and to understand who Pragte should serve first.

Contact and partnership forms

If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email, topic and message by email so we can reply. If you send a partnership pitch, we also receive your organisation and website if you give them. Both forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep spam out.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide the Service: publish sites, save form submissions, store and show uploads, run live controls, and run the AI in the editor when you ask it to,
  • send messages you expect, such as an email for each form reply on a paid plan, receipts and replies to your questions,
  • keep Pragte secure, prevent spam and abuse, and enforce our Terms,
  • provide support and reply to you,
  • understand, in aggregate, how Pragte is used so we can improve it,
  • measure our advertising and show Pragte ads to people who have visited pragte.com,
  • meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we never use what visitors give our customers’ sites, or anything else collected on them, for advertising.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:

  • Contract: to provide the Service you asked for.
  • Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and improve Pragte, in ways that do not override your rights.
  • Consent: for early access news and any optional communication. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: for tax, accounting and lawful requests.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run Pragte, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only for our instructions:

Provider type Purpose
Cloudflare Hosting, storage of photos and files, content delivery, security and spam protection
Stripe Payment processing and fraud prevention
Google (Firebase Authentication) Signing you in to the Pragte app, with Google or with an emailed link
Google (Analytics and Ads) Measuring visits to pragte.com, measuring whether our ads work, and showing Pragte ads to people who have browsed pragte.com. In the Pragte app, only counting visits, and only if you allow it
Google (Gemini) The AI in the editor: what you write to it, the pictures you attach and the page you have open are sent to Google to build a design, answer a question or make a photo, only when you use the AI
Email delivery provider Sending email from Pragte, such as form replies on a paid plan, replies to your messages and sign-in links
Domain registrar partner Registering a domain, only if you buy one through Pragte

What a site collects from its visitors is visible to the site owner and to collaborators the owner invites. Photos an owner approves are visible to anyone who can view their site or gallery.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, in which case this policy will continue to apply.

Cookies and analytics

The sites made with Pragte use only the cookies and local storage needed to work, such as remembering that a visitor entered the site’s password, a visitor’s upload session, or preventing spam. We add no advertising to the sites our customers publish.

Published sites count their own visits, without any third-party analytics service. Once a page has loaded, it tells Pragte that the page was viewed and which page. We count page views by site, day and page, and we count visitors by day using a hash of your IP address that changes every day and cannot be turned back into the address, so we can tell how many different people visited on a day without knowing who they were, and nothing links one day’s visits to the next. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not follow you across sites. It runs for every visitor, wherever they are, and no banner asks first because nothing is stored on your device. Crawlers and automated browsers are not counted.

Our own website, pragte.com, uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it, for example which pages are read and whether a form was sent, and Google Ads to measure whether our ads lead to sign-ups and to show Pragte ads to people who have visited pragte.com. These may set cookies (for example _ga and _gcl_au) and process technical information such as your browser, device, approximate location and the pages you visit. We do not send Google your name, email or anything you type into our forms.

Your choices:

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are off by default, and Google only receives limited information that does not identify your browser.
  • If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising, and advertising cookies stay off.
  • Everywhere, you can turn off personalised Google ads in My Ad Center, block cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.

The Pragte app (pragte.app, where you design and run your sites) asks before counting anything. If you say yes, it uses Google Analytics to count visits to the app, which sets _ga cookies; it does not use Google Ads. If you say no, or do not answer, nothing from Google Analytics loads and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your answer at any time from Cookie settings in the app’s Help menu or at the foot of your dashboard. The app also keeps what it needs to work in your browser, such as your sign-in and your projects.

Google’s use of this data is described in its privacy policy.

How long we keep information

  • Projects are kept while they exist. Form submissions (such as RSVPs and messages) have no time limit: they are kept until the site owner deletes them, the site or their account. Visitors’ photos are kept while the site is published, within the storage of its plan. When the time bought for a paid site ends, photos over the free plan’s 100 MB are removed from the site and the owner’s account. We may keep a backup copy of those for up to 12 months so they can be restored, then it is deleted. Deleting the site or account, or asking us, deletes it sooner. When you delete a project or your account, we delete its content within 30 days, apart from backups that expire within a further 30 days.
  • Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Technical logs are kept for a short time, normally no longer than 30 days, unless needed to investigate abuse.
  • Early access details are kept until you ask us to remove them, or until early access ends.
  • Contact messages are kept for as long as we need them to help you, and no longer than two years.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or download your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell personal information. Showing Pragte ads to past visitors of pragte.com may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out with Global Privacy Control or the choices in “Cookies and analytics” above, or by emailing privacy@pragte.com.

Site owners can view, edit, download and delete most of their information directly in Pragte. For anything else, email privacy@pragte.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are a visitor of a site made with Pragte, we may pass your request to the site owner, since they decide how your information is used.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

Pragte and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we use recognised safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit, access controls, file validation on uploads and rate limiting. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us right away if you notice anything unusual.

Children

Pragte accounts are for adults. The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where local law sets a higher age), and we do not knowingly collect their information directly. Photos of children may appear in images that visitors upload to a site, for example at an event. Site owners can hide or delete any photo, and anyone can ask us to remove an image by writing to privacy@pragte.com.

Changes to this policy

If we make a significant change, we will tell site owners by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
